Here I Am

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. Since Ed McMahon hosted Star Search and Whitney Houston was the Queen of the Pop Charts, I’ve wanted to be a singer.

From my first stage at my hometown church (Shiloh Baptist in Waycross, Georgia) to talent shows, pageants, karaoke bars, YouTube snippets and the shower — I’ve been singing all these years.

I’ve spent 16 years in Corporate America, and ¬†dreaded almost every moment of it. Why? Because my heart wasn’t in it. I wasn’t following my dreams. Not surprisingly, fast paced Public Relations agencies and contract work as a Marketing Consultant never quenched my thirst. None of it ever came close to scratching my eternal itch to sing and dance and perform.

The fire inside me refused to die, so here I am. Finally.

Fast forward through college at UGA, marriage, the birth of my three wonderful children and a divorce…and you’ll find me here. Sharing my heart, my talent and my passion with you.

Enjoy these two selections¬†Count on Me (Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans) and Natural Woman (Aretha Franklin). OLD YouTube videos, but it’s a start…:)

Welcome to HearCharitySing. Just listen–and enjoy.
